STEVE FRANCIS

I was born in 1954 in London and have been an avid motor racing fan since the early sixties, frequently visiting Brands Hatch to see my heros Jim Clark, Graham Hill, etc. in action.

I soon developed an interest in drawing and painting racing cars which I continued through to my A levels much to the annoyance of my art teacher who complained that I painted nothing else.

I left school in 1972 to pursue a career in a photographic laboratory and continued until 1989 when I changed direction to become a freelance professional model maker. This gave me the opportunity to continue with my art as painting and model making are very close allies in the advertising business.

I was accepted into the Guild in 2002 and currently have some of my work exhibited in my local pub, The Canonbury, in Islington London. I am currently working on a number of illustrations for a forthcoming book.

I am available to undertake commissions.
