Sidetracked after 'A' levels into the Tourism industry for 14 years Ian nevertheless to paint as a hobby.

Working as a motorsport journalist for a variety of publications during the eighties and nineties - he was a regular columnist for AutoClassic Weekly - Ian also produced motoring cartoons for Rally Sport and Autosport magazines.

As a competitor on historic rallies in the eighties, the artist produced many cartoons and caricatures of fellow competitors, soon moving to the production of Christmas cards on motoring themes.

Ian is currently the editor of OLD STAGER, the magazine of the Historic Rally Car Register, so perhaps it is no surprise that he has an interest in painting rally cars from the golden age of rallying - the fifties, sixties and seventies. Commissions have been received from Nissan Motorsport Europe, AP Racing, HERO and BTCC racer James Kaye.
