GARY JAMES MILBURN

Gary was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire in 1952 and still lives in the county with wife Sue. As a child he developed a passion for all things mechanical particularly automotive. His first job was with a Bradford advertising agency as a commercial artist. As the only artist a rapid learning curve was necessary to master photo retouching and air brushing. After two years he decided to pursue other work... enjoyable as it was, art was not the best way to earn a living.

On passing his driving test Gary became involved with sports cars and the local motor club scene. So began a 30 year involvement with rallying. As secretary of a large northern motor club Gary has organised stages on numerous club, national and international rallies, often acting as stage commander driving his highly modified Triumph TR8. He considers that he was lucky to have been involved in the exciting 'Group B' years of rallying. The experience undoubtedly influences his artwork.

Taking early retirement in 1999 Gary found there was a market for prints of his work on the internet which sparked his enthusiasm once more!
