BRUCE MACKAY

Born in Bournemouth two years after the Battle of the Bulge Bruce has always been a bit mad about cars. His father bought the first for his three sons - a 1927 Austin Seven. They drove it around the back garden. Bruce was nine.

After art school in Bournemouth various agencies and studios followed in London - visualising, illustrating, designing and art directing. Bruce eventually became a creative director in advertising at twenty seven, at which point he suffered teenage acne during middle-life crisis, went freelance.

Many happy moons were spent stuck up Welsh mountains or in ‘exotic’ European locations directing mad and rich photographers on shoots for car catalogues which he had designed.

Having drawn, designed and directed the photography of cars, you would think he would be fed up with cars. But no!

He is not sure his better half, or the dog share this fanaticism but then ‘they wouldn’t, would they?’
